Atlas
The Atlas du Québec is a pilot project launched in 1995. Its
goal is to uncover the general trends governing the evolution of Québec
and to make them available to everyone involved in development planning.
Teams from several universities are involved in the Atlas. By utilising
a georeference database, the team proposes to conduct a three-part
project: a national atlas composed of maps of Quebec made by specialists;
an interregional atlas allowing regional comparisons using a common
frame of reference; and regional atlases from information processed
by the regions.
